Electron-magnon spin conversion and magnonic spin pumping in an antiferromagnet/heavy metal heterostructure

We study the exchange between electron and magnon spins at interface of an antiferromagnet a heavy metal finite temperatures. The underlying physical mechanism is based on spin torque associated with creation/annihilation thermal magnons right-hand left-hand polarization. process depends strongly relative orientation polarization spins. For sufficiently strong spin-transfer (STT), conversion becomes nonlinear, generating nonzero net pumping current in that can be detected neighboring layer. Applying external magnetic field renders possible manipulation STT driving pumping. Our theoretical results are experimentally feasible direct relevance to antiferromagnet-based spintronic devices.
